Praia De Alvor Praia de Alvor is a large picturesque beach surrounded by expansive dunes which lead to a large estuary. During the windy months the estuary is occupied with kite surfers. The beach offers plenty of privacy and sunbathing space for all, without any fear of towel overlapping. There is also plenty of space for beach games such as frisby and the very popular bat and ball.
Along Praia De Alvor there are many cafe's and restauran ts, ranging in price from expensive to value for money. There are sun loungers in the summer running along the beach which can be rented out for about 5Euro and extra for a wind break. Alvor beach is classified as an accessable beach, providing ramps and footpaths directly to the sand. There are disabled toilets and facilities for wheelchair users such as various equipment for use in the sea and the beach. Parking is ideal, positioned directly behind so there is no need to lugg sun umbrellas and cool boxes for miles across dunes on this beach. The buses also run regularily stopping next to the ramp which leads to the beach. Praia De Tres IrmaosFor a more secluded part of the beach there is Praia De Tres Irmaos which is a short walk to the East of Praia De Alvor towards the cliffs. Set into the rocks there are small coves which offer a sheltered and slightly less populated part of the beach. By walking further East still along the cliff tops there are slightly harder to get to coves, which are only accessable by walking down steep steps however for some picturesque exclusive sunbathing and swimming it is certainly worth it.
