Casa Mirama is a large villa, on the edge of the village of Alvor, split into two self contained apartments being Casa Mirama Poolside and Casa Mirama Terrace. The owners do not rent out Casa Mirama Terrace which is the upstairs apartment.

Casa Mirama Poolside sleeps 4 to 5 in a spacious two bedroom, two bathroom (one ensuite) apartment with an open plan lounge / kitchen bar adjacent to a large covered terrace with outdoor kitchen & BBQ, ideal for outside dining, overlooking the garden and swimming pool.

The apartment sleeps 4 comfortably, all rooms are large enough to accommodate extra beds / cot. The apartment is very cool in summer.

The pool is for the sole use of the guests renting the apartment.

Although located in a quiet area the villa is an easy 15 minute walk into the centre of the village with its bustling streets and great choice of restaurants, so in the evenings there is no need to take the car. It is also possible to take a longer, picturesque walk into the village along the estuary.

This is an ideal option for those who do not want to stay in a resort and require their own independance with the benefits of your own pool, outside dining and BBQ facilities.

 We provide 1 ltr water & UHT milk, tea, coffee and bottle of wine.

Optional extra: welcome pack £15 -1ltr water & fresh milk, tea, coffee, cheese, ham, bread,  butter & bottle of wine.                                                                            

Please bring your own beach towels. Option to rent them out at 5 euros each.

Option to rent as a one bedroom apartment out of high season (April/May/September/October). Price per week based on 2 persons sharing.

Kitchen Kitchenette is equipped with dishwasher, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, single induction hob, cafetiere, toaster, sandwich maker,  juicer  and all necessary cutlery and crockery. There is an outdoor kitchen with 4 gas rings, gas barbeque, sink  and second fridge.  A picnic box is available.
Living room Living room has sofa with 4 armchairs, coffee table and flatscreen TV, DVD player.  Bose radio & CD player.
Other Large terrace with sunloungers.  Also on terrace dining table and chairs for 6. Around the pool are 4 sun loungers.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service Towels & linen are included and changed weekly for a 14 night stay to include a clean. For stays of 8 to 13 nights mid stay change and clean £25 for one bed and £35 for two bed. 
Amenities/facilities BBQ and sole use of the pool.

A large and shady covered terrace, adjacent to the pool is provided with dining table, six chairs, gas ring with four burners, gas barbeque and 2 sunloungers. Around the pool are four sunloungers, and a further table and 4 chairs.

The covered terrace, garden and pool are situated with a south / westerly aspect. The sun will be on the garden and pool all day leaving the terrace in the shade until late afternoon/evening.


The beautiful long sandy beach of Alvor is a 20-25 minute walk from the apartment, alternatively an easy 3 minute car ride or a bus can be taken from the top of the road. A huge boardwalk was erected in 2011 running alongside the beach. The sandy beach stretches from Alvor to Prainha where stunning views can be seen while walking along the spectacular high sandstone cliffs. Other beaches close by are Tres Irmaos with attractive rock formation, Praia do Vau and Praia do Rocha.

Distance to shops

A supermarket is an easy 10 min walk. There are many small grocery stores amd shops located in the village.

The centre of the village is an easy 15 minutes walk on a wide pedestrian path.

The taxi rank and main bus stop are located on the approach to the village.

Buses pass the top of the road and take you to the village or the beach.

Distance to Restaurants

There are a number of restaurants within a 5 minute stroll if you choose not to walk into the Village.

Dom Joao - Portuguese family owned restaurant that serves good basic family dishes all year.

Moley's - Good home cooked food. Excellent breakfast on sunny terrace.

Dourado Grill - A large restaurant that serves grilled dishes (especially chicken) and chips. They also serve take away food.  Closed in winter.

A Nora - A farmhouse restaurant that serves classic Portuguese dishes plus simple European dishes.

Casa d'Avo Maria -  Waling distance. This restuarant has a donkey at the gate. Lovely setting with orange trees. Good menu.

On the way down to the village there is Panda for Portuguese food and a cafe next door for a good coffee.

In the village guests are spoilt for choice with regards to restaurants.


Some guests  hire a car and pick it up at the airport.  Alternatively it is possible to get a taxi / minibus airport transfer and hire a car in Alvor for the days you need it. This saves the hassle of queing up for a car hire on arrival (and returning on departure). Some guests only take the airport transfer and do not bother with a hire car at all.

We can arrange the airport transfer.

For those without cars, a taxi to and from the Village will cost around e5 and to the beach e7. Buses to and from Alvor / beach run every half hour and cost around e1.40 per person per trip.

Directions from Faro airport

On leaving the airport go straight along the dual carriageway for about a mile where you will see a turning on your right sign posted A22 Portimao\Lisboa. You will then join another dual carriageway through a commercial area, after about 2 miles keep left, follow signs A22 Portimao. Carry on for another mile take a turning to the right signpossted A22 Portimao / Lisboa. You are now on main A22 motorway heading West, keep on this motorway until you see the exit for Alvor which will be approx 30mins.
